technically, if it's offensive and harmful, stop it.

Honestly its usage needs context before we can say if its offensive, cause i do have autism and use reee as a joke

perpetually offended person telling autistic person what is and isnt offensive to people with autism lol. Are you also offended by goats bleating and cows mooing? "Ree" is a sound made by frogs and is used on the internet to express anger, despite how many times you link KYM.

If I am in a room with you. And I tap my toe. You say that it's annoying you and I continue to tap my toe. Then you say that it's causing you a headache and I continue to tap my toe then what place does that put me?

Text comments on the internet that you can choose to not read (either via not reading or filtering via blocking) are different than someone screeching or making noise which you cant filter or ignore. But thats besides the point. I think youre confusing "offensive" and "annoying."

no. annoying is one thing. If I specifically am saying 'forget your feelings, I'm going to do what I want to say or do' then it becomes offensive. And that is the entire point. memes have become a language. Language has power. IT also can be adjusted.

Okay, but to use your example, does continuing to tap my toe make the action of tapping your toe inherently offensive, or just the fact that i did it after you asked me to stop?

nope. the action itself is not offensive. But now that it has been suggested that some could take offense in using that in communication, you have the decision to decide if it's useful enough in communication to continue to use or is there another way to communicate?

Harmful. Ableism is harmful. not "offensive"

Can we remind ourselves that this all happened cause gold told me to not use a joke cause she thinks it harms autistic people when said person is autistic? Like why does it evem matter if an autistic person uses reee as a joke.
