Yes, it's not the best idea they've had.
The only people who would disapprove are bad auction house users, who either A) do not understand how to properly use the market economy, or B) are actively trolling others attempting to sell items at a lower price by overloading the market with single items that cost more per
That's what blizz wants you to think. That this is a fix for bad users. Not true, it's a fix for bad AH.
I get it.. and I think people that databases get it.. allowing infinite stacks of single auctions is bad form and with the legacy AH stuff will be a problem.. but there's far better ways to do it than AH taxes..
With a 20% tax, you can only post 5 times. It's better to post in larger stack sizes. Sounds ok for tidespray linen. But .
But what about Cobra Scales. 2000g each. Daily sale rate 0.04. you need to post many times to make a sale. Unless you post in stacks of 200. Now imagine a buyer. He goes to AH. He wants 2 cobra scales. They are only in 200s. The price? 400,000g to you, buyer!
Yes, small lot legacy mat posters will be punished unfairly/unnecessarily - whereas those posting 200x1 Tidespray will continue because they're confident they'll sell their 200 singles - and if they do sell, there's no penalty at all, no reason to change their behaviour.
This is made to be a punishment for players who post in stacks of ones. Sounds good right? no more walls of ones. Except the players who post in 1s DONT GIVE A FUDGE. Their only aim is to empty their bags and make a few gold more than if they sold at vendor. They wont (contd
Do you know any casuals (by casual I mean playing first 6 months of each expac only) who normally just slap all their mats on AH in stacks of 1 to empty their bags who will now pause and go to the blizz forums and hunt around for the blue post that will say they will be penalised
NONE of them. Instead they will continue to post in stacks of 1, and then GET ANGRY because they can't make as much gold, becuase of the 20% tax. and who will they be angry with? legitimate gold makers. fuking yay -.-
