In October, Pipedream closed a $1.6M pre-seed.
Instead of announcing, we went right to work making underground logistics possible.
Here is what we have been up to since:
(UPDATE MEGA THREAD)
. The end of the year awards are one of my fav podcasts of the year & I lost my mind when I heard Pipedream mentioned, especially among that insane group. Going to spend the next year grinding our ❤️’s out to back it up 👊
system installs is in a new 1500 home community, 15 minutes from Boring company & Tesla. We’ll have a mix of in kitchen portals and mailbox portals to each house.
(Pic is a portal w/ installed underground pipe)
for TWIST Startup of the year!
SO proud of our small team who started the year working out of my garage. Also BIG 💙 to our Twitter community who gives us superpowers!
over the last 7 years VCs assumed that bits-companies had infinite scale & high margins
turns out bits-companies had no defensibility, so the scale/margins are tougher than expected
now all the VCs are all in on atoms-companies, where there's actual defensibility
atoms >> bits
For the past 4 years I’ve had a monthly reminder to listen to this video.
I skip the meetings part, but besides that it’s, imho, most succinct video that helps remind you what actually matters when you’re building something hard.
I'm building an open sourced tool that will totally automate meal planning, nutrition tracking, and grocery ordering. (1/5)
The goal is that you can add/select meals that you like and choose your diet goals, then the system will automatically order your groceries from a service.
:)
Last year Ryan shared super helpful DMs with startup founders on raising capital, pmf, introversion, remote work & lots more.
Sharing these today all in 1 place

Enjoy! 🤩
Pipedream and I have teamed up. We’re building a new podcast studio
A funny idea we had was to make up a bunch of fake startup-y book titles like “lights, camera, traction” or “how to lose a VC in 10 days” and put them on the bookshelf in the background
Send your ideas in lol
Introducing Not Boring Capital Fund III
A $30 million fund to back Hard Startups that can bend the world's trajectory upwards.
Fund III is an evolution of our strategy and a double-down on narrative.
And we're opening it up to readers.
is unbelievably easy, fast, and affordable. They’ve changed how I design hardware. I just wish something near their level existed for other forms of manufacturing
I know we say it all the time, but Pipedream is FUNDAMENTALLY community project. Reviewing last year & there are so many times that y’all helped us in HUGE ways.
If this somehow works, it will be because this blue bird community made it so. We’ll never forget that. Love y’all!
There's a lot of people building huge followings
Who suck people in by speaking lots of common sense, speaking truth to power, highlighting the matrix etc
But you always know they're dumb, full of shit or controlled opposition when they blame a political party, immigration etc.
