Thanks to taiHEN, Adrenaline runs now through a custom IPL, thus Adrenaline is a real PSP CFW :D

since it is essentially the same, just with and without storing CFW-related files in flash0 to load them (lcfw launcher).

cfw === custom firmware. If the firmware is customized, it's a cfw (see: 3ds firmlaunchhax).
