    The fact that the vast majority of both technical and organizional blog posts by startups are "aspirational" rather than reflecting reality is part of the reason our industry is so full of bad ideas and bullshit

    Part of the problem is that we reward people for writing code, not for the far greater skills of NOT writing code, or successfully managing a good vendor relationship and saving the company from a category problem.

    I was about to comment on the craziness of VC/Silicon Valley until I realized I also never really worked at a profitable company.
