A few weeks ago I was chatting with [name drop!] Steve O'Donnell, and for some reason he brought up Pete Fatovich and how sorry he was that when Pete died a few days after the final LS, he didn't get an on-air send-off. (1)

For my money, hard to beat one of Pete’s first appearances, in which he wasn’t seen. I believe it was 2/23/82, when the warm-up and show open was shown from the perspective of an audience member (“Earl from Yonkers”), voiced by Pete. Absolutely classic.
