Getting my hair cut, Janis Joplin playing. The teenager minding the counter says, "Who is that?". The lady cutting my hair, noting my gray hair, asks me. "Janis Joplin", I say, thinking she appreciates the music. She responds, "Well, whoever it is, it's giving me a headache".

I’ll guess “Me & Bobby McGee,” since it’s her only solo song that got any airplay. Though it would have been nice if it had been “Piece of My Heart,” though not a solo song.
