It's out there but not in official high quality.

There’s no such thing as “official high quality“ for the rehearsal footage. I took mine down after the Dylan people were looking for it for their archives, and I was asked to provide it for them. I sent them my earlier, poorer-quality version.

Does high quality footage and audio of the Dylan 1984 broadcast exist?

Uncertain. The audio was in mono, since the show wasn’t equipped for stereo until mid-1985.

I saw you say the 1" master may not exist. Does this mean we may have only home recordings or does the show have better pre-broadcast copies? Saw this in Rolling Stone: https://www.rollingstone.com/music/music-news/bob-dylans-new-bootleg-series-spotlight-early-eighties-infidels-period-1199615/ …pic.twitter.com/px3iAiFa0Q

Wow. Thanks for that. I would bet that that audio comes from what I sent them. (Not directly; they had contacted a former Dave staffer, who then reached out to me.)

We Dylan fans are in your debt! Just read your website about what you did to accumulate and maintain the Dave archives. Wow.

Thanks! I was just going through old email — the request for the footage occurred on January 14, 2021. They must have been gathering material for the upcoming 1983-85 Bootleg Series. That’s when I removed it from YouTube.
