Does high quality footage and audio of the Dylan 1984 broadcast exist?
Uncertain. The audio was in mono, since the show wasn’t equipped for stereo until mid-1985.

I saw you say the 1" master may not exist. Does this mean we may have only home recordings or does the show have better pre-broadcast copies? Wow. Thanks for that. I would bet that that audio comes from what I sent them. (Not directly; they had contacted a former Dave staffer, who then reached out to me.)

I had borrowed a portable professional VHS deck from the Ethnomusicology Department at Columbia University and recorded the Dylan performances that night. Quality is pretty good. The show re-aired October 1, 1984. It never aired again anywhere.
