I spent the summers in the mid-‘90s in the Columbia U. Library microfilm room leafing through years of Village Voices (c 1962-‘78), jotting down club dates to input into my NYC Clubs database. (‘78 on from the purchased newsstand issues.)

Donz any chance you could make this club database available over the web? It must be a mind numbing treasure trove of music in the city

Replying to @NYCSightsSounds @dblohm7
I touched on it in my "Databases" blog, but I haven't a clue how to transfer it online. I've been helping some researchers when asked.https://donzblog.home.blog/2019/09/26/my-letterman-databases/ …

The most fun was finding specific dates, where, for example, Larry Coryell played in Gary Burton's quartet, and discovering how Jeremy & the Satyrs came out of Tim Hardin's backup band.

Years ago Will Lee FB-messaged me. He was being interviewed on the phone re The Bottom Line, and he asked me when did he first play there? A few clicks and: May 7, 1974, backing up Barry Manilow. The club had opened 3 months earlier. That's when it pays off.
