Any idea why the gap from’73-‘79? I feel like he referenced a ban during one of his later appearances, but quickly played it off as a joke
I wondered as well. Fortunately, he briefly went into it in his Act 1 segment before his chat with Dave. Stay tuned.

He did a *great* appearance with Tom Snyder in 1990 (the night after his Leno gh shot) where he claimed he was "banned for life" at one point after a joke at Johnny's expense that didn't go well.

I don't have the Snyder (radio? CNBC?) but I probably have his 1990 Leno appearance. Will look later, maybe tomorrow night (will be out all day tomorrow). I'm spent after today's craziness.
