After which someone sent me a cleaner copy from wherever he had gotten it, so I replaced the earlier upload with the upgrade. And there it sat for the last 6 years. The staffer, not aware of the rehearsal’s existence, asked it I had it anyway. (3)

I did, so I sent my earlier acquisition to the staffer, who then forwarded it to the Dylan folk. I never had direct contact with the Dylan people. It was through the staffer. I would have liked to, so we could discuss the upload. (4)

But that didn’t happen, so I felt the wisest course was to take it down myself before they might have, which would have resulted in a YT copyright strike. There’s an article about the rehearsal with a link to the upload, but that link is now dead. (5/)

P.S. The video I took down had been copycatted by at least one other uploader, so it’s still available on YT, just not by me.

Every single video in this person’s channel comes from my own, all from at least three years ago. Then it stopped. Maybe because I began adding my “DonzTV” watermark to every subsequent upload.

However, this uploader bastardized my Dylan upload by repeating the first few minutes at the end. For some reason, that’s common among copycat channels. Also, my version included both the rehearsal and the broadcast performance.

I don't know how this person could be a Dylan fan & yet have failed to internalize one of the biggest lessons Dylan has taught the world, which is that stealing is only okay as long as the thing you make with the thing you stole is as good as, or better than, the thing you stole.

This person is as much a Dylan fan as he is a Letterman fan as he is a fan of a silly song I co-wrote and performed along with my dorm on the college radio station in September 1969.

As with Dylan, a lot of folks believe your best work was in the sixties but those of us who are dialed in know that you've never been better than you are today

Hey! "Blue River" was a classic of its day. Watch yourself. :)
