@thedonz5 Don, do you know if NBC or Worldwide Pants has ever given permission to release performances from Late Night on an album? The hope is that the March 84 Bob Dylan performance will be on the next Bootleg Series. It is one of his best TV performances

I should clarify all this: I had uploaded both the rehearsal and broadcast performance a few years ago. The Dylan folks were evidently not aware of it. They didn’t have the rehearsal (no idea re the aired songs), so they asked a former LN/LS staffer. (1)

The staffer didn’t have it and didn’t think it had even existed, as the Dylan folks forbid anyone on the LN staff from capturing it. I found it at a bootleg flea market in the mid-‘90s And uploaded it on YT in 9/15. (2)

After which someone sent me a cleaner copy from wherever he had gotten it, so I replaced the earlier upload with the upgrade. And there it sat for the last 6 years. The staffer, not aware of the rehearsal’s existence, asked it I had it anyway. (3)

I did, so I sent my earlier acquisition to the staffer, who then forwarded it to the Dylan folk. I never had direct contact with the Dylan people. It was through the staffer. I would have liked to, so we could discuss the upload. (4)

But that didn’t happen, so I felt the wisest course was to take it down myself before they might have, which would have resulted in a YT copyright strike. There’s an article about the rehearsal with a link to the upload, but that link is now dead. (5/)

P.S. The video I took down had been copycatted by at least one other uploader, so it’s still available on YT, just not by me.
