      "NBC Entertainment does not have this episode." (2017) "…several of [the shows we requested] are MII tapes which are nigh close to undubbable." (2020) "…they don't have the media for that show." (2021) (2/3)

      Now, in many cases, they will have the shows, which they'll then have digitized per request. But there's been no systematic program to digitize every show that they have. And they don't have every show. (3/3)

      I wonder what the reason would be for why they don't have every show? Losing or taping over the tape? I would think that, at the very least, by the 80s legal (in terms of copyright and/or lawsuits) would require that they keep a tape of every episode.
