Ask Mr. Melman was a parody of Bernard Meltzer's radio show "What's Your Problem." BM guested on LN March '83. AMM began Dec. '83. In late April '84 BM threatened to sue. AMM then mocked him further, first with a hairpiece, later with a phrase. (1)

In high school, I worked in a supermarket on Long Island. A woman had left a wallet at my register, I didn't realize it and someone else took it. She sued the store/me and lost. AFTER that she called Bernie Meltzer. He smacked her down and DIDN'T send her t-shirts.
