I remember during the NBC Late Night years the band was introduced and played a whole song during a segment. I guess the guest couldn’t make it and Tony Randall or Regis couldn’t make it either. Can’t remember the song at all.

Can't deny Dave's iconic status as one of the top talk show hosts in tv history. Paul and the band were an integral part of Late Night and Late Show's success. Loved that band and all the guest musicians who were invited. (5th Anniv. spl-In the Midnight Hour was magic)
