I had an art teacher in junior high who loved David Letterman's appearances on the Tonight Show. I distinctly remember him reciting the dried-toothpaste/breath mints joke in class.

That's a good one. But I still think my favorite is the last one in 92. It helps that he's poking fun at Clint Eastwood.

I remember watching that on a TV with shitty reception and trying to tape it. I know @thedonz5 can relate.

There were 2 shows in 2/87 when the cable was out. So I grabbed them both on bad antenna and audio cassette. (Trades later filled that void.) Then 2 weeks in 8/13 during a cable company dispute that shut access to CBS. By then torrents solved that.
