I meant to ask — how did you find out about the test show, and how’d you get the ticket?

Collected TV tickets from 1st leftover one seeing a show in '70s. Neat souvenirs. Most are shows I didn't see in person though. You now have me revisiting my few posts to AFL back when, including re: test show :) https://tinyurl.com/sfsh79m

Jeebus -- this was before I had heard about afl. I may not have been able to access it (aol) then. Finally was able sometime in maybe mid-'94.

I learned of Usenet when I worked at a software company. Searched the canonical list and found AFL and other TV groups including game shows - a favorite genre. Had to learn some UNIX to access them.

My first entries into the online world of Dave were in AOL (1990) and Compuserve (1991). There were message boards in both. The latter included Shecky, who was then producing the syndicated shows on A&E. My first online contact with a LN staffer.

Nice! I was on Cserve too from 84/85ish , can still remember my user# & logon. AOL as well. I sort of remember seeing Shecky and some musicians would appear in their groups as well.

My first one: a teeny thing that hooked up to the TV. Radio Shack MC10. Still in storage somewhere. Used a cassette recorder for storage.pic.twitter.com/3tCqsq5H4Z

Ha! I used to visit a friend in the early '80s who used a Franklin with same (cassette tapes). Later upgraded to an Apple II. Living on the edge.
