I doubt the commenter was that aware. Chris’s act worked best within Dave’s orbit in a particular moment in time but not as well outside of either.

I think I’m pretty accurate in my assessment. Lately there have been a lot of views of the Chris collections. More and more folks ask, “Whatever became of him?” Meaning that it was always that moment in time.

“Letterman was the best vehicle for his talent.” Kinda what I said. No “only because” about it.

Ah, but by your own conclusion it didn’t work outside of Dave’s orbit. As I said. Regardless that you found it funny, it wasn’t as successful.
