      Professor Corey absolutely killed on his 12/6/83 Late Night appearance (two months after the US invasion of Grenada). It was the only time Corey ever appeared on Letterman.       omg I have to watch this, thank you. And yeah, if I remember, that was the reason why Crispin Glover, Pekar, et al, never came back. (Irwin really thought it was his mocking the Grenada invasion.)

      Glover returned several times. And Pekar's last was on LS. What DL disliked were guests never stepping outside their character during their interviews. With Pee Wee and Schmenge Bros. the exceptions (Candy/Levy asked in advance).

          Also, Andy K was allowed a lot of space, but he, too, gave DL advance warning, and DL ok'd it. There were likely others, but PWH, Schmenge, and AK come to mind for now.
