Dave hated when people didn’t cede to him on the show. I recall #TexCobb doing something like this. A boxer, probably went on drunk. It didn’t go well.

omg I have to watch this, thank you. And yeah, if I remember, that was the reason why Crispin Glover, Pekar, et al, never came back. (Irwin really thought it was his mocking the Grenada invasion.)
Glover returned several times. And Pekar's last was on LS. What DL disliked were guests never stepping outside their character during their interviews. With Pee Wee and Schmenge Bros. the exceptions (Candy/Levy asked in advance).
Great pull. And I think this continued when Tex was in the chair another time.
