I have this great compilation I was going to put up after the Carson strikes had expired. Ah well.

Fuckers did the same thing with my YouTube channel about two yrs ago. From 1987 till about 2007 I recorded all sorts of interesting news coverage. I made several compilations and put them up. Within a year the copyright nazis got my 1,500 vids taken down. I’m still pissed.

I’ve been looking for your channel like crazy. No wonder why I couldn’t find it. So sad. You had some really great videos especially the ones from the 80s and early 90s.

It’s since been brought back to life, thanks to the good people at Carson Entertainment.

As a long-time fan, I’ve always thought the Carson folks need to do a better job of getting their archive exposed more broadly. They were active on YouTube a few yrs ago but seem to have stalled. I fear Johnny will be forgotten if they are not more aggressive

They’ve given me the ok to upload over-the-air TS videos as long as they monetize them on their channel. I had deleted them all earlier, so I’m in the process of re-upping them. I’m not special here; they’re cool with anyone doing this. (1/2)

What got me in trouble was uploading content extracted from their licensing site, which was stupid, and I paid the price for it. Now that they’ve rescinded the takedowns and I’ve removed the offending videos, the channel lives on for another day. (2/2)

Allowing the content but monetizing it is the way to go. I wasn’t aware that they allowed folks to upload their personal recordings of the TS. I’ve got tons from the late 80’s thru 92 but since my channel got taken down, I’ve been banned from YouTube

Why would news footage be objectionable? It makes no goddamn sense.

Exactly!! My final take-downs were for some episodes of Meet the Press from ‘92-93! Like NBC News was planning to put out a Meet the Press “boxset” and I was gonna take away sales
. Luckily I have all my clips backed up, just don’t have a place online to put them.0 replies 0 retweets 1 likeThanks. Twitter will use this to make your timeline better. UndoUndo
