Well, I guess that's it, then. Unable to "create a channel" via instructions to change its hidden status. I'm at a loss what to do.

I can see and watch the Bev Tanner video
I can get into the videos list and change its access status from Private to Public, which I did for a few clips. But I can't yet change the channel setting from Hidden to Public, and that's a problem.

Did you try deleting YT cookies? I had to hack my YT Cookie a few months ago cause the new YT version blocked me from posting comments. Its worth a try. Im researching alternatives for you <wink>

I’ve no idea how to do that. The glitch occurs in the desktop, the laptop, and the iPad. So it’s not local.
