Well, I guess that's it, then. Unable to "create a channel" via instructions to change its hidden status. I'm at a loss what to do.

It still exists; I can see you in my subscription list and all of your videos I've liked now say "private." So it's still there. I'll see if I can find a way to help you somehow make sure you can unhide all your videos
