If I were to hear that, who's to say that I wouldn't go ahead and purchase the track? So stupid.

Other claimants in the video (Sinatra) simply monetize, and they should. I monetize nothing on all of my uploads. The reasoning behind “It’s So Unusual” baffles. I can edit it out and re-up, but it ruins the piece.

Exactly! For example, tons of clips from the Simpsons are on YouTube but I got a copyright strike for a Popeye cartoon from the 40s that's in the public domain. I appealed, got denied. I don't get it.

A strike. That sucks.

First the tide rushes in Plants a kiss on the shore Then rolls out to sea And the sea is very still once more So I rush to your side Like the oncoming tide With one burning thought Will your arms open wide At last we're face to face And as we kiss through an embrace.... Inconsistency is the only thing that's consistent about YouTube. These days, "Fair Use" is meaningless. On account of a robotic-algorithm deciding whether or not you're uploading content that seeks to make money from someone else's intellectual property---there's no common sense.
-
@youtube -- is there any way to resolve this?
