If I recall correctly, the other classic title in that night's segment was Womens Be Thinkin' Too Much, by Ike Turner.

Thank you again, Don! If anyone should apologize it's me for implying an obligation to you...great fun, thanks.

It always astounds me the details people remember.

I know you're occasionally in touch with that era's writers; they can be proud that their crazy funny stuff inspired many mid-'80s college students - some of whom themselves became writers - and that much of the humour stays in our memories to this day.

This is why I'm foremost a fan and nothing more. It's a kick to have gotten to "know" some of those who created this beast. It's almost like
@Willbassboy growing up to the Beatles and then end up playing with them.1 reply 0 retweets 1 like -

I'd like Will to know that some of us first learned of classics like "Soul Finger" and "When You Walk In The Room" and MANY others from he and the great World's Most Dangerous Band playing them as the show went to a break.

There are some mysteries so far. There's one song that's nearly identical to "Pipeline" by the Chantays, but with a different melody and middle section. Wracking my brain trying to find what it is.

Hey, it just occurred to me that Steve Jordan and I wrote a song called “Paul Is Dead” that sounded less like Pipeline and a lot more like the “Kids In The Hall” theme that came a few years later....hmmmmm

"Paul Is Dead" was in heavy rotation during those early months. Debuted April 20, 1982; played 16 times up to August 23, where I am now. Also a full-broadcast version on June 4. Yes, I have no life. I'll YT that Pipeline-like tune after surgery.

Good luck with the surgery, Don! Will, thanks for the Viewer Mail laughs all those years ago; you were the best actor in the WMDB, and I envied your knack for charming the lady viewer mailers.
