Don, you are a hero. But how have you navigated the copyright issues, both for Worldwide Pants/NBCU Comcast and the music clearances?

The bird network has been picking and choosing their blocks; music publishers have claimed ownership and monetized their content, which they should. I've monetized nothing. WPI hasn't complained yet.

In other words, I'm completely rogue here, dependent on the whims of the content owners. At least in regards to sharing on YT.

I hope that continues! Did you keep all the commercials in the air shows, or did you take the trouble to cut them?

For YT purposes, I've cut them. Except in very few instances, like Dave's final morning show. My source material either has the full 58 min. (all of my recordings do), the ad-less 43 min. (from others) or tapes with no ads but with full break music.

The morning show too? Wow. LATE NIGHT was such a huge part of my high school and college life. I was watching pretty much from the get go. I have a bunch of the anniversary shows on VHS, but it looks like you don't need them.

I'm missing five of the 90 morning shows. Hopefully they'll end up here at some point. In addition to other morning show uploads, I put up a selection of clips here:https://youtu.be/_A9LMPuNYqk

Back then I was working days co I wasn't able to watch many of the morning shows. I'd love to see them.

I wasn't even aware of it. A friend told me to watch, and I gave it around 3 minutes but didn't "get" it. May have been a horribly-boring interview. It was in '81 when DL guested on Carson when I came around.

I became a fan of Dave when I saw him on Carson in the late 70's.

Again, you beat me in your Dave awareness by years. :)
