Desert Island 5 albums for me. At once a cultural artifact capturing the time and yet surprisingly a suite that holds up.
Still a timeless LP. And that first track always gives me chills, 50 years later.

My high school band would play "Love" songs, mostly from their first LP. No one in my area (Baltimore) had heard of them. We felt like both the hippest and loneliest guys around. Then "Forever Changes" was out, and the rest of the world got it.
