Didn't Letterman follow Carson's business plan to own all the taped episodes? I know Carson did that at some point, and I though that he advised Letterman to do the same, especially since Late Night was a Carson Productions vehicle. (My apologies if you've covered all this B4.)

Dave owns his 1980 mornings shows, the 2nd LN film festival, and all of his Late Shows. NBCU still owns all of Dave’s Late Nights. I’m not privy to how the production credits rolled. First NBC/Carson, then added WPI, then minus Carson post 5-92.
