That's good to know. I'm going tape-to-DVR-to-DVD to help categorize. Did you do the hard drive archiving from the start?
No; I went from tape to DVD, then converted the DVD to .mp4. I used several models of VCRs, depending on the tracking made when originally recorded. That's for another interminable blog post. :)

I know what you mean. And I've got things on Betamax and U-matic. Plus some linear stereo VHS, some hi-fi. And D-VHS is another animal entirely, destined for Blu-Ray.
