She did, twice as guest (2002 and 2003), and once as cameo (Cape Thing, 2003). Then 7 more appearances after Johnny's death (1/05), 2010-14.

In retrospect, I've wondered about the impact of Rivers leaving the TS then giving rise to Leno, if he would have even been considered to guest-host in the first place.

Yeah, I suspect had she not left Leno wouldn't have been in the picture at all. He might have gone to Fox?
