    At night, some species of Parrotfishes (Scaridae family) secrete a clear mucus cocoon around themselves, which masks their scent and helps protect them from predators like sharks and moray eels

    Sand Tiger Sharks (Carcharias taurus) are the only known species of shark to go to the surface and swallow air. They use that air to control their buoyancy!

    Sea otter predation on Purple Sea Urchins (Strongylocentrotus purpuratus) helps protect kelp forests from destruction. Sea otters that regularly eat purple sea urchins are easily detected as their bones and teeth turn purple!
