X-Men was one of the first cartoons with multi-episode story arcs, just like the comics. Kids who have grown up with the movies would recognize stories like Days of Future Past, Apocalypse, and of course, The Phoenix and DARK Phoenix Sagas, when 90s kids learned about sadness.
