so are you in agreement or disagreement that Hispanic refers to language or "ppl of Spanish-speaking origins " and Latino refers to people whose origins are located in Latin America (Caribbean, Central & South America and where Mexico, Arizona, Texas are)?
-
Do “we” even include Caribbean countries, or countries like Belize in the “Latinx-Latino diaspora”? This is all set by the ingrained anti-blackness in Latin-American countries, which had dictated how “we” separate ourselves, ignore, and bash blackness.

I thought those descendents were called “Hispanic,” and people descended from Mexico, Central, & Latin America were called Latinx? Genuinely confused now.
-
Hispanic means you come from a country where the official or main language is Spanish

So much this. I know I benefit and profit from being light-skinned. It’s important to acknowledge the legacy of colonization in Latin America and the ways we benefit from shades of racism.
