I am all for waste reduction but has the City considered the impact of a plastic straw ban on people with disabilities who require these?
@GlendaWH has recently flagged some good questions and considerations as you explore this issue.
We provide glass straws in place of plastic and @theunionvan and @elcaminos are getting compostable straws to replace plastic ones.

Unfortunately glass, metal and paper straws do not work for many people. I implore all of you working on this issue to read the concerns of people with disabilities and listen to what they have to say including

Thanks Anna. I am sure staff be able to resolve thru discussion over the next number of months. Finding a way to deal with most of the 7 million thrown out in Vancouver a week while finding solutions for the fraction that are necessary seems like a challenge that can be solved
