Went off the grid for 24 hours on Mt Hood last night and now swiftly brought back to reality for the Super Bowl. Go Niners!

You know your job requires a lot of brainpower when you need a brain break so you do your taxes.

I am trying to write my first technical article and its a struggle. Not only because I am still learning myself (which is one of the reasons I wanted to write it) but because it gives me the imposter feels. Hard to convince myself I could write something that would teach others🤦🏻‍♀️

Darn, most coding bootcamps are not accredited so I can't get a tax break. It was definitely school, it seems like it should be treated as such!!

This is exciting! I don’t know if I’m at a point where I could give a 25 minute talk, but I have a feeling I’m going to enjoy the process of considering it and mulling over possible topics 🤗

I feel like I am constantly trying to balance my list of career related extracurriculars with job specific learning. I want to write tech articles, speak at events, and create a website for ShadowTechPDX, but I also should probably double down on learning Angular and C#

I have talked to people who have similar misconceptions that I used to, ie Twitter sucks and is pointless. For me it has been a great way to build a community in tech. I’ve honestly learned so much thru this platform that I wouldn’t have otherwise.

A couple of reflections as I inch towards 5k followers... I set out with the intention to not feel so alone in tech. Success! I had no idea what I was getting into. I have gotten opportunities because of Twitter. I try to be purposeful about using my account to help others.

Anyone else in tech feel like, outside of work, you’re not good at technology? For some reason writing code and figuring out how my parents smart TV works are two completely different skill sets for me.

Had fun making a site for my beautiful friend !! It was fun to mess around with some CSS to make a responsive site that's both clean and fun 🤗

I was frustrated with my working pace recently (it’s slow), and a coworker reminded me that as an associate the expectation of me is that I learn. I need to be patient - I can’t know all the things overnight. But I can learn something today that I didn’t know yesterday.

Making a website for a friend and we were really focusing on the design on desktop, so that's what I did first. Not mobile first. And now I must pay.

I don’t know if there’s a world in which Apple Bottom Jeans comes on and I don’t stop what I’m doing and get low. It’s my Achilles heel.

Today I am trying to tackle how to mimic a preset CSS situation and it is feeling very hacky. Love CSS troubleshooting, but also low key hope we don’t actually want to implement this behavior...
