There's a lot of cleverly hidden content in many old Windows betas. If you happened to be a Windows beta tester in the 90s or early 2000s and kept the media you received, it would be great if you could revisit your collection and perhaps share it with the internet if that's okay.

Sounds design for UIs is quite an underappreciated feature. One of the best examples of great sound design would be the Nintendo Switch OS. Every button that takes you to a distinct place has its own set of sounds, sometimes with an extra pitch variety. It's a delight to use.

You ever think about how the badges used to display grouped window count in the superbar of early Windows 7 builds closely resemble those we got for UWP notification count in Windows 10?

Thought this would be something in regards to managing resources behind the scenes but no, it's just moving more tabs to a different window in one swoop. Kinda underwhelming.

I have some questions for the iOS developers: 1) How many radars/feedback did you file from January 1st, 2018 to October 1st, 2019? 2) How many of these got any response from Apple? 3) How many got resolved? I will compile stats in a few days. Please retweet for reach.

If you've been a beta collector for a while, please consider checking what you've saved over the years. Chances are you own something interesting or rare that multiple communities online would love to check out.

This has to be one of the most incredible collections out there to make its way online. Big props to Steve for letting the community tinker with something that's been considered a holy grail for years.

Wait a fucking minute I can either let you Brick my £400 speaker and send it to landfill in exchange for 30% off a new one or keep it and I'll stop receiving updates to my entire house full of your products. Are you having a fucking laugh?

This may be a dumb question: What about //build/ these days justifies the $2395 ticket price? Part of me hoped that at least the accommodation would be sorted out as a part of that, but that's not the case. Devices / gifts were abolished by 2016. What's compelling about it?

Additionally, please excuse the rather unappealing placement of the User Tile in the demo screenshot.

The User Tile also hides within this build, entirely unused. Later builds start to show the username in a vertical strip, then they go horizontal, and eventually the picture is used too. Funny how this early layout is what the design ultimately circled back to.

Worth noting how at this point it's still the "Start Page" (look at the titlebar) and not the Start Menu, the name Start Panel was also used at some point if I remember correctly
