The Iowa caucuses should be a cautionary tale for anyone thinking re: adopting new technology—shit is hard(ish). This shouldn’t have been. But you went cheap. 🤷🏻‍♂️

Truly confused why a log management tool company (Splunk) bought a Super Bowl ad.

Our NN is initially in Python for rapid iteration, then converted to C++/C/raw metal driver code for speed (important!). Also, tons of C++/C engineers needed for vehicle control & entire rest of car. Educational background is irrelevant, but all must pass hardcore coding test.

“At Tesla, using AI to solve self-driving isn’t just icing on the cake, it the cake” - Join AI at Tesla! It reports directly to me & we meet/email/text almost every day. My actions, not just words, show how critically I view (benign) AI.

Hot take: Bootcamps should STOP wasting time on resume reviews. No one cares. Employers see bootcamp and go "NOPE". That time should be redirected to 1) forming real rships w/ employers so resumes aren't necessary and 2) teaching big O & practicing technical interviews

I'm quitting Facebook. Not comfortable with the flood of false information that's allowed in its political advertising, nor am I confident in its ability to protect its users' privacy. Follow me (and Molly, aka The Thing of Evil) on Twitter, if you like.

Writing up a blogpost on static site generators and realizing that every project, blogpost, demo and talk I am referencing is by someone I work with. Not even trying to plug my coworker's work to be nice! has assembled the people that have taught me everything I know 😍

Oh, that big company uses React Native, great, now you can relax and use it! But always be careful because another company might declare it as dead, so you must abandon it ASAP. Remember: *always* do what big companies do, even if you're working on a tiny startup with no users.

I don’t think suspense is going to be as huge of a thing as it may seem. If you use Graphql, most of the time you already build your app in a way that prevents waterfalls. Maybe at FB scale there will be a difference. But normal apps? I think it’ll be minor.

TIL you can promisfy the "on" method on any class that extends EventEmitter and `await` events! Just don't forget to bind.

Blaming open source developers for and human rights abuse is like blaming an auto manufacturer for drunk driving. How about we hold people responsible for THEIR actions rather than violently shitting on folks who endeavor to make other’s lives easier? Like WTF?!
