    There is no evidence that any pet will be any safer as a result of this shiny new law. The offence of theft already exists. It has a maximum sentence of 7 years. But it gives the government another chance to posture as Tough On Crime while the criminal courts are in meltdown.

    We need more rail investment away from HS2 as well - improving east-west routes, electrification everywhere, etc - but that needs to be as well as, not instead of.

    And HS2 does that by being a dedicated line for intercity trains, freeing up space on the existing lines for more local & regional services and for freight. Between London & Birmingham, that space is the benefit, more than quicker journeys.

    . as a constituent of yours I'm asking: please *support* HS2. To tackle the climate emergency, to achieve , we need to (among other things) reduce motor traffic and get rid of domestic air travel, which means we need more rail capacity.

    i recently learned (to my dismay) that female trees are purposely not placed in urban areas. this is bc capitalism doesnt want female trees to bear free fruits. you can also thank capitalism for pollen season due to too many male trees producing pollen w no females to fertilize

    Worth remembering that the reason the RNLI is in the spotlight in the first place is because the government is passing a law that will potentially criminalise rescues at sea. Farage is trying to inflame the debate but the extremism in this case comes from the centre.
