So I just raided a pre recorded live stream. What is the purpose of this. What are the benefits and draw backs. If it's an easy way to rack up watch time, I can do that. Does it make your subscribers mad to come to a stream that is fake?

No. I don't think I will. I stream because I like hanging out and having fun. I can't articulate it, but this feels fundamentally wrong to me. I was surprised at first. But, I don't think I like it.

Wow!! I've never even heard of this before?!?! Huh... I don't think I'd like that. I like to play with everyone and interact and all that fun.

I totally agree. Streaming should be there for the viewer interaction, or else it's the same as watching a video. But to be fair, at his size, there isnt a massive amount of interaction anyways, purely because of the sheer number of people. He could never respond to everyone.pic.twitter.com/reItpQogfP

Yeah. Good point. Actually
@TeamYouTube had a great feature just for this idea. It was called “Lounge”. In that instance I can see someone replaying their live stream. Hmmmm I wonder what ever happened to this feature.

As long as you have permission to use the video (ie it’s yours), you can do prerecorded streams in YTs TOS. A lot of the streams they promote are actually VODs. I think it’s mostly “reruns” for different time zones though. YTs new “premiere” feature is VOD only too.
