When I had a car that was being held together by tape, I would get stopped for absolutely no reason 3-5 times a week. During those stops I would get berated for being poor and threatened with escalating fines/tickets. I was also sexually harassed.
The police interactions leading to Sandra Bland’s and Philando Castile’s deaths began with stops for minor traffic violations.
