WITH ALL DUE RESPECT, Amy, it’s like you just moved here and haven’t seen what’s going on? We local activists have been screaming from the rooftops how dealers are effectively a “protected class”,in that their arrest results in @chesaboudin immediate release without prosecution.https://twitter.com/amyhollyfield/status/1445017731015712773 …

I just read the article, feel frustrated by the problem & would like to hear an update from local and federal law enforcement on cutting off the source. I have lived here for 20 years and keep wondering why the dealers are operating so effortlessly. Would like to hear the answer

Prosecuting drug dealers does not impact drug use, drug related crime or overdoses. It is a waste of time and public money.

Interesting! So if we don't cut off the source by removing the dealer from the equation, what is the answer?

What worked in The Netherlands when they had an explosion of heroin-related overdoses and drug-related crime was to decriminalize drug use and focus on getting rehab to users, while cracking down on smugglers.

People who fail rehab repeatedly are given free heroin by The State and monitored by health officials. Their overdose rate is down 95% and drug-related crime has practically disappeared.
