LOL. “Something something national problem.” SF apologists love to point national statistics and overlook the horrific local evidence. “The Party told you to reject the evidence of your eyes and ears. It was their final, most essential command.”https://twitter.com/stuz5000/status/1424518348725915648 …

Almost every fentanyl overdose is a homicide that the city hides from the statistics. If someone says they are selling you a Dr Pepper, and it has some other medicine in it that stops your heart, and you die, that is a homicide. Period.

Wait,
@chesaboudin said#CrimeIsDown? This literal mile of 720 corpses wasn't included in SF’s 2020 crime stats. Addicts not treated like real people by the DA? I'm shocked.1 reply 2 retweets 9 likes -
Poisoning yourself is a crime?

That’s not what I’m saying. Poisoning someone *else* with a mislabeled product is a crime. Most fentanyl is an adulterant. But technically any death that results from a felony or reckless indifference is a homicide, **whether we as a society choose to prosecute or not**pic.twitter.com/kLMl3Zz9XC

We weren’t talking about crime as defined by how many people we put in jail for crimes. If we were the DA could put no people in jail and say there were zero crimes. We were talking about measuring harms to society. That’s what crime stats are.

I’m that context, fentanyl ODs are clearly homicides that should be counted in the statistics to measure the effects of whatever policy approach we are currently using.

If this is true, then we have a different problem. I don’t believe that the people I see shooting up don’t know what they are doing. What is the source for your claim that “most fentanyl is added as an adulterant”?

People who smoke cigarettes cause far more harm to society than fentanyl. Should that be counted as illegal as well? Should we jail the tobacco companies?

What about people who drive a lot? They cause immeasurable harm to society, via pollution, traffic deaths and global warming. Is it time to lock them up too?
