My mistake re 2019, but again these fluctuations have occurred throughout SF history. Factoring in police accountability re stats as well as violence, DA addresses causes at the root which prove to permanently decrease crime, if not immediately.

The Chronicle just parrots what Boudin is saying. Boudin is *technically* correct overall crime is down. But when you drill down you see that all crimes that need people to be outside is down (which they weren't because of Covid) - while everything else is up: homicides etc.
