If you think one of your friends or relatives is quieter than usual, ask them if they're ok or if they want to talk or go for a drink, anything. Don't leave it up to a depressed person to ask for help.

I wish more people understood this. So many times I see no doubt well-meaning people say things like 'i'm always at the end of a phone if ever you need to talk' in response to people who are struggling. They will NEVER call you when things are at their bleakest - call them.

As someone who has been detained twice in a secure unit under section 136 in the past three days there is help out there but there is no quick fix but please stay with what they offer
