I don’t like PFL. It doesn’t work for me, because I see my disability as my culture. I’ll be damned if I watch people say they don’t like PFL because its for ableds. It was co-opted but it was FOUNDED by disabled people who are often erased/silenced. We can’t forget that.

I don’t use people first language. But I really wish people would research the history of it and realize how truly revolutionary it was for the time. I feel for people w/ ID/DD for whom it’s a source of pride to watch people bag on it without knowing why it matters
