I'd want to know who this person is and how credible they are.

Everyone thinks their recipe is better. You can’t argue with the results. Whether you like his management style or not

What's good for the customers doesn't always bode well for the employees. There may be a happy medium, but that may not be the case when a leader is trying to fundamentally alter the status quo.

Depends. First paper I worked for got bought out by Gatehouse. That CEO doesn’t know jack about local media and shouldn’t be involved in daily decisions. But if I worked at Amazon, where the CEO has been intimately involved in processes since Day 1, that’s different.

The irony is that Bezos is actually an extreme delegator and relatively hands off with the established LoBs Their business units are very decoupled from one another. There's a reason Jassy and Wilke have the titles of "CEO" for AWS and Amazon Consumer businesses.

Their critique reads like someone who has only seen the potential negative results of
@elonmusk actions, and doesn't acknowledge the positives that can come from being micromanaged by a genius. Chalking up Elon's best features to great emails and philosophy doesn't add up...Thanks. Twitter will use this to make your timeline better. UndoUndo

Leaders empower their junior leaders to learn how to make the executive decisions necessary to accomplish the task at hand and for the benefit of all. Someone with his vision needs an exceptionally strong team around them. These are likely habitual, yet isolated situations.

I mean if I were an employee I would quit in a heartbeat. But Elon is exactly the type of person who I want to exist in the world. And if it's his company why should he compromise his vision?

Micromanaging is not a good way to build a robust and enduring organizations. Tesla would collapse without Elon. That's not a good thing. Amazon, on the other hand, would do just fine without Bezos. Probably for many decades.

I worked for someone who did exactly this, but was not a genius, and managed to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory probably twice as often as the other way around. I don’t think this style of micromanagement correlates to success.
