@theSamParr Have a recommendation on the cross-country car. Went with a Cadillac Escalade ESV after settling on the Suburban/Yukon XL/Escalade style. I'm on a similar trip now and it has been amazing. Admittedly we're hauling a larger group 5+animals. Also, have a Thule on top.

21 highway/14 city. Luckily the trip is mostly highway. Engine feels super powerful even with the weight. There are also some tax deduction opportunities for heavy vehicles if tied into a business.
