Another fact: midwestern people are the nicest people there is. I didn’t realize this growing up in Missouri. But after living in diff places and going back to MO and other Midwest, the ration of nice to not nice is nuts.

I have a black wife and we've never had issues in the Midwest. Not once. I went to a very progressive, all-boys high school where kids came out as gay at 14 and were accepted, not mocked. Hate exists - but I think it's equal there as other places.
