No. I disagree. Many write amazing things. I don’t know how big your newsletter is. I’d even bet you have a higher NPS than I do. But we are likely way bigger. Agora makes $1b a year in newsletter rev. Are they $1b better than you at content? I bet no.

Oh for sure you and Agora are way bigger! Partly that's because it takes a long time to build an audience, even when the writing is great. Partly because I'm not nearly as consistent yet. I'm sure there's also valuable user acq stuff that only makes sense at a certain scale.

At $5/month you cant scale to the size Sam is referring to. Yes, they have the upside of a huge free subscriber base but their premium content is **packaged** as higher value. $5 / month does not present itself as “high value”.
